Laughter and Humour

Laughter is energy that can be shared.  Humour, however, is subjective and not always shared.

Did you laugh at the last joke you heard? Have you been on the receiving end of a practical joke? Did you laugh? Do you watch certain television shows that your family members despise? Do you laugh uproariously at a commercial and your friend looks over at you with disdain?

In summary, laughter is innate and can be shared. Humour is learned, and isn’t always appreciated by more than the interpreter. There has to be an intellectual connection.

Jumpstart your Laughter

For the purpose of applying laughter to your daily life, think of humour as the brain waves of jumpstarting your laughter. Spend time daily being aware of what you interpret as funny.

Also, spend time practicing laughing out loud. Maybe smiling first, then leaning into a giggle.

Go for it

The Laughing Heart
Apr 16th, 2008 by Susanna QueenBee

The Red Hats are right into Laughter.

We explore the benefits of learning to laugh when life isn’t funny. We think of the sounds of laughter as sounds of healing and look on laughter as a tool for wellness.

We listen to others with a laughing heart.

A laughing heart is a heart that hears what is not being said. When you are present with another person and laughter occurs between you, your hearts have laughed together.

And when you have a laughing heart, you have a healing heart.
